RX24/065 White Foam Sheet – Extra Soft Upholstery Foam for Back Cushions
RX24/065 is Livedale’s softest conventional upholstery foam grade, developed for applications where comfort, flexibility and a yielding feel are more important than the firm support required from a seat cushion.
It is particularly well suited to full-depth back cushions, sofa backs and chair backs where a conventional firm seating foam would feel too rigid.
RX24/065 is also a useful alternative when replacing tired fibre or feather-filled back cushions. It provides a softer, fuller feel while giving the cushion a defined foam structure rather than relying entirely on loose filling.
The foam can be used on its own for suitably soft back cushions or incorporated into a layered construction where a softer surface is required over a firmer supporting foam.
What Does RX24/065 Mean?
RX24/065 has a nominal specification of:

RX24/065 would not normally be our first recommendation for a full-depth seat cushion.

For conventional sofa seats, bench seats or other weight-bearing cushions, a firmer and generally denser seating grade will usually provide more appropriate support.
If the finished seat needs a softer surface, RX24/065 can potentially be incorporated as a thin comfort layer over a suitable supporting foam rather than being used as the complete seat interior.
Choosing the correct foam is important because simply choosing the softest foam does not necessarily produce the most comfortable seat.
RX24/065 Compared with RX30/110
RX24/065 and RX30/110 can both be used for back cushions, but they provide noticeably different levels of firmness.
RX24/065 is the softer option and is best where a deep, yielding back cushion or fibre/feather replacement is required.
RX30/110 provides more resistance and is therefore better suited to softer fixed backs, medium-feel loose back cushions and headboard applications where slightly more structure is required.
If you are replacing an existing cushion, consider how much the original cushion compresses in use rather than choosing solely by thickness.
