Made to measure fibre seat and back cushions for replacing flat, tired or sagging sofa, chair and armchair cushions.
Fibre seat and back cushions are a soft, plump and feather-free option for replacing tired sofa and chair cushion interiors. They are ideal for customers who want a lighter cushion filling with a fuller appearance and a softer, more relaxed feel.
This category is for replacement fibre cushion interiors used in sofas, chairs, armchairs, loose seat cushions, sofa back cushions, scatter backs and traditional upholstery cushions. If your existing cushion filling has gone flat, hollow, lumpy or uncomfortable, replacing the fibre interior can help restore comfort and improve the appearance of the furniture without replacing the whole sofa or chair.
Fibre cushions are especially useful where a customer wants a soft cushion filling but does not want feather.
Sofa cushions take daily use, and over time the filling can flatten, collapse or lose its original shape. Replacement fibre sofa cushions can help restore a fuller, softer and more comfortable feel to tired furniture.
Fibre is commonly used in sofa back cushions, scatter back cushions and softer loose cushions where a plump appearance is important. It can also be used for seat cushions where a softer, more relaxed sit is preferred.
For customers who want a firmer seat cushion with sharper shape retention, foam or foam with a fibre wrap may be more suitable.
Fibre back cushions are one of the most popular uses for this type of filling. Back cushions do not usually need the same level of firm support as seat cushions, so fibre works well where softness, fullness and comfort are the priority.
Replacement fibre back cushions are suitable for:
Sofa back cushions
Armchair back cushions
Chair back cushions
Loose back cushions
Scatter back cushions
Pillow-style back cushions
Traditional upholstery back cushions
Feather-free sofa cushion replacements
If your sofa back cushions have gone flat, hollow or sagging, new fibre cushion interiors can help give them a fuller and more comfortable appearance again.
Fibre seat cushions give a soft and relaxed feel. They are suitable where comfort and a plump finish are more important than firm support.
They can be used for softer sofa seat cushions, loose chair cushions, occasional chair pads, armchair cushions and traditional upholstery projects.
However, fibre seat cushions will not hold their shape as firmly as foam. If the customer wants a firmer, more supportive seat cushion for daily use, foam cushions or foam with a fibre wrap may be the better option.
Many customers look for replacement fibre cushions because their existing sofa or chair cushions have gone flat, sagging, hollow or uneven.
Common reasons for replacing fibre cushion interiors include:
Flat sofa back cushions
Sagging armchair cushions
Tired chair cushions
Hollow or collapsed cushion backs
Lumpy fibre cushion inners
Soft cushions that no longer recover properly
Scatter backs that have lost their plump shape
Furniture covers that are still usable but need new filling
Replacing the cushion interior can often improve comfort and appearance while keeping the original cushion covers.
Fibre cushions are a good choice for customers looking for a feather-free cushion filling. They provide softness and fullness without using feather or down.
This makes fibre a practical option for sofa backs, chair backs, scatter cushions and lighter upholstery cushions where a plump, comfortable finish is required.
If you like the soft, relaxed look of traditional cushions but prefer not to use feather, fibre cushion interiors are often the best place to start.
Fibre and feather cushions both give a soft, relaxed cushion feel, but they behave differently.
Fibre cushions are lighter, feather-free and often give a springier, plumper appearance. They are especially useful for sofa back cushions and scatter back cushions.
Feather cushions are heavier, more traditional and have natural movement. They give a classic upholstered feel but require regular dressing and plumping.
Fibre is usually the better choice where the customer wants a softer, lighter, feather-free cushion interior.
Fibre cushions and foam cushions are very different.
Fibre cushions are softer, lighter and more relaxed. They are best for customers who want a plump cushion with a softer feel.
Foam cushions are firmer, more supportive and hold their shape better. Foam is usually better for seat cushions that need stronger support, sharper edges and less day-to-day maintenance.
For many sofa and chair cushions, a foam core with a fibre wrap can offer a useful balance: firmer support from the foam, with a softer wrapped finish on the outside.
Our fibre seat and back cushion interiors are made to order based on the size, shape and filling required.

For the best result, measure the empty cushion cover rather than the old cushion filling. Old fibre interiors can flatten, spread or distort over time, so measuring the old inner may give inaccurate sizing.
Take the old fibre, feather or foam interior out of the cushion cover.
Measure the empty cushion cover from seam to seam across the widest point.
For back cushions, measure from the bottom seam to the top seam.
For seat cushions, measure from the front seam to the back seam.
If the cushion cover has a boxed edge, measure the border panel from seam to seam. This helps us calculate the correct amount of fibre filling needed.
Please note, the border measurement is not always the final visible thickness of a fibre cushion. Fibre cushions are filled to create a plumper shape and may sit fuller once filled and dressed.
Common fibre cushion shapes include square cushions, rectangular cushions, tapered back cushions, loose scatter backs, curved cushions and cushions with rounded corners.
For unusual or complex shapes, please send a clear photo of the empty cushion cover. We may ask for a paper template.
Fibre cushions are soft, comfortable and plump, but they still need regular care. They should be plumped, turned and dressed to help keep the filling evenly distributed and the cushion looking fuller.
Over time, fibre will naturally settle with use. Regular care helps maintain comfort, shape and appearance.
Fibre is the right choice if you want a soft, lightweight, feather-free cushion interior with a fuller, more relaxed finish.
For customers who prefer a firmer cushion with stronger support and sharper shape retention, foam cushions or foam with a fibre wrap may be more suitable.
This category focuses on fibre seat and back cushions. If you prefer a more traditional natural filling with weight and movement, please view our feather seat and back cushions.
Feather is often chosen where the customer wants a classic upholstered cushion feel, while fibre is better for customers who want a softer, lighter and feather-free alternative.
