Description
C.S. Osborne No 4 5½” Scratch awl – used for marking a design layout or marking points. It can be used to scribe a line on leather, wood or steel to be followed with a chisel or gauge. Osborne Scratch Awls carry a hardened steel point. The tip of the awl is drawn across the working surface to leave a shallow groove or can be pressed or tapped into the surface to make a location mark.
