This 27″ wide 900g Feltex needled felt with woven backing is a heavy-duty upholstery material designed for applications where firm padding, protection and structural stability are required.
The dense needled felt provides a durable padding layer, while the strong woven backing adds stability and makes the material easier to position and handle during furniture construction, repair and restoration.
Unlike soft polyester wadding, which is primarily used to add loft around foam cushions, Feltex is intended for firmer upholstery build-ups over springs, webbing, frame areas and other structural support systems.

Feltex or Polyester Wadding?

Polyester Wadding provides softness, loft and a smoother finish around foam.
In a furniture build-up, Feltex may therefore sit lower in the construction as a firm protective layer, while softer wadding is used nearer the finished cushion or upholstery surface.
