Ecobond Firm Foam Cushions
Ecobond Firm foam cushions provide a supportive, cost-effective seating option for furniture repair, replacement cushions and professional upholstery work.
Rather than manufacturing the complete cushion from one solid block of foam, Ecobond uses smaller quality foam offcuts fabricated together to form the cushion core. A 1″ foam layer is then laminated to both the top and bottom before the cushion is trimmed to its finished size.
This construction makes better use of foam material that might otherwise go to waste while producing a practical, durable cushion suitable for everyday seating.
What Is Ecobond Foam?
Ecobond is manufactured by joining suitable pieces of upholstery foam together to create the main cushion core.
The fabricated core is then finished with a continuous 1″ layer of foam across both the upper and lower surfaces.
This provides:

Choosing Between 4″ and 5″ Foam
The correct thickness should normally be based on the original cushion and the internal depth of the existing cover.

5″ Ecobond Firm Cushions

A Practical Way to Reduce Foam Waste

Add Polyester Wadding for a Fuller Cushion

Adding Stockinette over the completed foam and wadding interior can make fitting the cushion into a close-fitting cover considerably easier.
Stockinette reduces friction between the cushion interior and the fabric cover while helping keep the polyester wadding in position during fitting.
It is particularly useful when refurbishing existing sofa or chair cushions where the original covers are being reused.
Help Prevent Loose Cushions from Moving
Loose sofa and chair cushions can sometimes move across the furniture platform during use.
60cm Wide Anti-Slip Cloth can be positioned between the seat platform and cushion to provide additional grip and help reduce unwanted movement.
