This 36″ wide 225g (8oz) polyester wadding fibre cushion wrap provides extra softness and loft around upholstery foam where a fuller finish is required.
With approximately 20mm loft, this medium-heavy polyester fibre wrap adds more build-up than general-purpose 4½oz wadding without the additional bulk of the heavier 10½oz and 14oz grades.
Often referred to as 8oz Dacron, Dacron cushion wrap, polyester cushion wrap or foam wrap, it is particularly useful for sofa cushions, armchair cushions, bench seats, window seats and general upholstery where a soft, rounded appearance is wanted.

Bond Dacron Wadding Securely to the Foam

Leaving the Dacron loose can allow the fibre to move while the wrapped foam is pushed into its cover. This can cause folds, bunching or uneven areas of padding beneath the upholstery fabric.

8oz polyester wadding is a good choice when more loft is required than a general-purpose cushion wrap but maximum padding is not necessary.
As a general guide:
2½oz – light padding and subtle edge softening
4½oz – general-purpose cushion wrapping
8oz – fuller cushion wrapping with additional loft
10½oz – heavier wrapping and generous padding
14oz – maximum loft and the fullest padded finish
