Livedale Foam and Sundries Ltd is now in it’s 63^rd year of trading.

History

Livedale Foam & Sundries Ltd. was started in 1960 by 5 ex Dunlop employees who were involved in the early stages of foam development.

Over the years the company continued to supply the upholstery trade with foam, building up a very regular and loyal customer base. By 1993 only 2 of the partners remained (Bill and Fred).   Fred then sold his shares to Bill’s son in law, Ian. This partnership continued until 1997 when the Bill retired and sold his shares to his daughter Sue, who was now working in the business. At this point the company became a husband & wife team.

Ian and Sue’s son Matt joined the business in 2000 continuing the family tradition.  His wife Helen joined in 2013 and they now run the company after Sue and Ian retired in 2021.

By 2011 it became obvious that Livedale had outgrown their Farnworth premises and so started the search for new larger premises. We were fortunate enough to find a brand new factory building in Wigan and moved into our new premises during May 2012. We have since expanded with a further 2 units purchased. 

Over the last 11 years since our re-location we have grown from employing 7 members of staff to our current figure of over 40 employees whilst still remaining a close knit team.  We have installed a CNC cutting machine, began producing fibre and feather cushions in house and expanded our fleet of vehicles adding new runs as often as we can.
