Description
Replacement Fibre Filled Seat Cushions
Our made to measure fibre filled seat cushions are designed for replacing flat, tired or sagging sofa and chair cushion interiors. They are ideal for customers who want a soft, plump and feather-free cushion filling for sofas, chairs, armchairs, loose seat pads and traditional upholstery cushions.
If your existing sofa seat cushions have gone flat, soft, lumpy or uncomfortable, replacement fibre filled cushion interiors can help restore a fuller and more comfortable appearance without replacing the whole sofa or chair.
Fibre filled seat cushions give a softer and more relaxed feel than foam. They are best suited to customers who want a plump, comfortable cushion rather than a firm, sharply shaped seat cushion.
Made to Measure Fibre Seat Cushion Interiors
Each fibre filled seat cushion interior is quoted and made to order based on the size, shape and filling required. This makes them suitable for replacing existing sofa seat cushions, chair cushions and armchair cushions where the original filling has become tired, flat or uncomfortable.
We can supply replacement fibre seat cushion inners for square, rectangular, T-shaped, L-shaped, tapered, curved and rounded seat cushion covers.
These made to measure fibre filled seat cushions are suitable for:
Sofa seat cushions
Chair seat cushions
Armchair cushions
Loose upholstery seat pads
Window seat cushions
Traditional upholstery cushions
Feather-free cushion replacements
Furniture restoration work
Domestic upholstery projects
Replacing Flat or Sagging Sofa Seat Cushions
Sofa seat cushions take daily use, and over time the filling can flatten, collapse or become uneven. Fibre filled seat cushions can help restore softness, fullness and comfort where the customer prefers a relaxed cushion feel.
Replacing the cushion interior can improve the appearance and comfort of tired furniture while keeping the original cushion covers.
This is often a practical option when the sofa or chair fabric is still in good condition but the cushion filling no longer looks or feels as it should.
Fibre Chair and Armchair Seat Cushions
Fibre filled seat cushions are also suitable for chairs and armchairs where a softer, plumper cushion is preferred.
They are commonly used for armchair cushions, fireside chair cushions, occasional chair cushions, loose chair pads and traditional upholstery projects.
Fibre gives a soft, lightweight and relaxed cushion feel. It is not designed to give the same firm support as foam, but it works well where comfort, softness and fullness are the priority.
Feather-Free Seat Cushion Filling
Fibre filled seat cushions are a good choice for customers looking for a feather-free cushion interior.
They provide softness, fullness and comfort without using feather or down. This makes fibre a practical option for sofa cushions, chair cushions and armchair cushions where a soft, feather-free filling is preferred.
Please note, feather-free does not automatically mean allergy-free. Customers with specific allergies should always check suitability before ordering.
Fibre Filled Seat Cushions vs Feather Seat Cushions
Fibre and feather seat cushions both give a soft, relaxed cushion feel, but they behave differently.
Fibre filled seat cushions are lighter, feather-free and often give a soft, plump appearance. They are suitable where a customer wants a softer cushion filling without feather.
Feather seat cushions are heavier, more traditional and have natural movement. They give a classic upholstered feel but require regular dressing and plumping.
Fibre is usually the better choice where the customer wants a lighter, feather-free seat cushion interior.
Fibre Filled Seat Cushions vs Foam Seat Cushions
Fibre filled seat cushions are softer and more relaxed than foam. They are ideal where a plump, comfortable and less structured cushion is wanted.
Foam seat cushions are firmer, more supportive and hold their shape better. Foam may be more suitable where stronger seat support, sharper cushion edges or lower-maintenance shape retention is required.
For many everyday sofa seat cushions, foam with a fibre wrap may offer the best balance: firm support from the foam core, with a softer wrapped finish on the outside.
Fibre filled seat cushions are the better choice when softness and fullness are more important than firm support.
How to Measure for Replacement Fibre Filled Seat Cushions
For the best result, please measure the empty cushion cover rather than the old cushion filling. Old fibre interiors can flatten, spread or distort over time, so measuring the old inner may give inaccurate sizing.
Step 1: Remove the Old Cushion Interior
Take the old fibre, feather or foam interior out of the seat cushion cover.
Step 2: Measure the Cushion Width
Measure the empty cushion cover from seam to seam across the front edge.
Step 3: Measure the Cushion Depth
Measure from the front seam to the back seam of the empty cushion cover.
Step 4: Measure the Cushion Border
If the cushion cover has a boxed edge, measure the border panel from seam to seam. This helps us calculate the correct amount of fibre filling needed.
Please note, the border measurement is not always the final visible thickness of a fibre cushion. Fibre filled seat cushions are filled to create a plumper shape and may sit fuller once filled and dressed.
Step 5: Check the Cushion Shape
Common fibre filled seat cushion shapes include square cushions, rectangular cushions, T-shaped cushions, L-shaped cushions, tapered cushions, curved cushions and cushions with rounded corners.
For unusual or complex shapes, please send a clear photo of the empty cushion cover. We may ask for a paper template.
Why Fibre Filled Seat Cushions Are Quoted to Order
Fibre filled seat cushions are not a simple one-size-fits-all product. The correct amount of filling depends on the cushion cover size, shape, border depth, fabric type and the level of fullness required.
For this reason, fibre filled seat cushions are quoted to order rather than sold as a standard checkout product. This helps make sure the cushion is filled correctly for the cover and the customer gets the right level of comfort and appearance.
Please call us with your sizes, cushion shape and quantity required so we can provide an accurate quote.
Important Care Information About Fibre Filled Seat Cushions
Fibre filled seat cushions are soft, comfortable and plump, but they are not a fit-and-forget cushion filling. They need regular care to help maintain their fullness and appearance.
Fibre filled seat cushions should be dressed and plumped every day. Daily plumping helps keep the fibre evenly distributed inside the cover and helps maintain a fuller cushion shape.
Over time, fibre will naturally settle with use. This is normal for soft fibre cushion interiors. Turning, dressing and plumping the cushions daily will help improve their appearance and comfort, but fibre will not hold a fixed shape like foam.
Fibre is the right choice if you want a soft, lightweight, feather-free seat cushion with a fuller and more relaxed finish.
For customers who prefer a firmer cushion that holds a sharper shape with less maintenance, foam seat cushions or foam with a fibre wrap may be more suitable.
Looking for Matching Fibre Back Cushions?
This product is for fibre filled seat cushions. If you also need replacement back cushions, please view our fibre back cushions.
Using new fibre seat and back cushion interiors together can help restore a more balanced look and feel across a sofa, chair or armchair.
Looking for Feather Seat Cushions?
If you prefer a more traditional natural filling with weight and movement, please view our feather seat cushions.
Feather is often chosen where the customer wants a classic upholstered cushion feel, while fibre is better where a lighter, feather-free cushion interior is preferred.
